The Park is one of the three important industrial zones for the Beibu Gulf Development, which was approved by China Central Government. 

The project consists of three phases, namely, Industrial Positioning Study in Phase 1, Conceptual Master Plan in Phase 2 and Regulatory Plan for Key Region in Phase 3. The planning works cover a total area of approximately 130 sqkm, including 27 sqkm of key region within the Park.

The site is located 40 km east of Beihai City and has been identified as one of the key industrial development zones of the city.
