JURONG Consultants Wins SILA Professional Design Award 2011

JURONG Consultants was awarded the prestigious SILA Professional Design Award 2011 from the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects and the National Parks Board. The SILA Professional Design Awards recognizes and celebrates outstanding works from the landscape architecture profession.

On being conferred the Gold award for Tampines Eco Green project, JURONG Consultants is proud to contribute her environmental consulting solutions to the first ecological park in Singapore. As the Project Architect for Tampines Eco Green, the park was designed as a tranquil sanctuary for nature appreciation with 2.5ha used for park amenities and the remaining 34ha left untouched.

Ecological features of the park designed by JURONG Consultants include the usage of recycled materials in signages and benches, bird hides and a first-of-its-kind public park eco-toilet which converts human waste into compost using bacteria and wood shavings.

The Jordan National Museum

23 Nov 2011 marked the official completion of the Jordan National Museum. The project was secured by JURONG International’s D&B arm, JURONG Primewide, and despite the obstacles along the way, the iconic building will now be one of the main attractions in the country.

Accordingly, the chief architect of the museum building, Ja’far Toukan, is a pioneering Jordanian architect and the designer of many major buildings in Jordan. His design inspiration was skillfully injected into the building design using materials such as rough and smooth stones as well as glass to suggest the country’s past, present and future.

Working closely with the architect, JURONG Primewide’s team learnt to adapt to cultural differences in the working environment, focusing primarily on delivering an outstanding project.
